A match in American football lasts four quarters of 15 minutes each (the first half consists of the first two quarters while the second half consists of the third and fourth quarters) with Overtime being played if the result is tied after 60 minutes of play.

The goal of the game is to score more points than the opposing team which you can do either by entering the Endzone with a football in your hands (this is called a touchdown) thus earning 6 points after which you can either kick the ball through the goalposts for an extra point or have one attempt to enter the Endzone with the ball in the hands of attacking player for two points conversion. You can also score by taking a field goal and kicking the ball through the goalposts (a field goal is worth 3 points). Defense can also score by either taking the ball away from the attacking players and entering the Endzone with the ball thus scoring a Touchdown worth 6 points or by sacking (tackling) the attacking player in the Endzone belonging to the attacking team thus scoring 2 points for their team.

In this article, you will find explanations for every available betting market.

For example, I will use the match between the Bills and the Jaguars.

Remember that every market that includes Overtime has that written in the market name as you will see in the screenshots below.

MAIN markets

The first market you will see is the Winner (Incl. Overtime) market where you are betting on who will win the match with overtime included. To win the bet your selection needs to score more points than the opposing team.

In American Football the match can end as a draw even after the Overtime is played so bets on either selection would be voided in that scenario (void stands for being settled with x1 odds).

Handicap (Incl. Overtime) is a market where you are either adding or deducting a certain amount of points to/from a team. Favorites to win the match are offered with a negative market line while underdogs are offered with a positive line.

Example: Bills -6.5 points market line means that you need them to win the match with at least 7 points difference (30-23, 25-15, etc.) while selecting Jaguars with +6.5 market line means that you will win the bet as long as they either win or lose up to 6 points difference (20-21, 20-14, etc.).

You will notice that in American football there are full lines available as well, if the result is tied after the selected line is applied bet would be voided.

Example: Bills -7 means that you need them to win by at least 8 points or more, if they win by exactly 7 points difference bet would be voided. If they win by 6 or less (or lose the match) your bet would lose.

This is the market where you can bet on Over or Under a certain number of points to be scored in the match. It is a line that combines the total scores of both teams. Placing a bet on Over 49.5 points means that you need both teams to score a combined 50 points or more in the match. Results like 27-23, 30-21, etc. would mean that your bet has won.

1x2 market is a three-way market that doesn't include Overtime. Here you are betting on the outcome of the match after the full four quarters. If the match goes into Overtime the winning selection is Draw.

These markets are for the specific team's total score at the end of the match, they include Overtime as stated in the market name. Bills Over 26.5 selection will win if the Bills score 27 or more points in the match. If they score up to 26 points the winning selection for that market line will be Under.

Halftime/Fulltime is a market where you are betting on the outcome of both the first half and the entire match. It doesn't include Overtime which is why it offers you to select a Draw as the final outcome. If you select Bills/Bills like in this screenshot you need Bills to have a lead at the halftime and to win the match after all four quarters are finished for your bet to win.

Example: Bills to lead 14-7 halftime, Bills to win 28-21 fulltime.

Same Game Multi

This market tab gives you the option to create a custom market line by including two or more selections offered under that tab. It is essentially a single bet on custom custom-created market. To win the bet you need all your selections to win. If one of the selections you included is settled as a loss entire bet slip will be settled as a loss too. If one of the selections is voided entire bet slip will be voided regardless of the outcomes of the remaining selections you have included in it. Every market line offered here includes Overtime.

Player Props

This market tab offers you a large array of options to place a bet on, you can pick and choose any of the offered markets for the players that the odds provider is offering from that match. You can place bets on Over/Under for passing yards for QB's in the match, Rushing yards for RB's, you can even place a bet on which player will score a touchdown in the match. All markets offered here include Overtime. If a player participates in the match even for one snap all bets on him will be settled per the final statistics.

Half markets

1st half - Draw No Bet market is where you can place a bet on who will win the first half by scoring more points. In case the first half ends as a tie bet will be voided (settled with x1 odds).

This is a three-way market for the 1st half only, you are betting on the outcome of the first half, whether on a team that you think will score more points than the opposing one or on a Draw if you think that both teams will score the same number of points.

You can bet on the handicap market for the 1st half only, it applies the same logic as the full match handicap market. Selecting Bills -6.5 points means that you need them to win the first half by at least 7 points difference.

In the 1st half - Asian Total market you are betting on Over/Under for offered point lines. A bet on Over 24.5 points requires both teams to score a combined total of at least 25 points for the selection to be settled as a win.

In this market, you are betting combined on the handicap and total line offered by the odds provider. You need both parts of the bet to win for your selection to be settled as a win. Bills (-3.5) & over 24.5 would require any result where the Bills scored at least 4 points more than the Jaguars with both teams scoring a combined 25 or more points in the half. Examples of the results that would result in a win: 15-10, 16-12, etc.

There is a three-way market combined with a total points market available as well. You need both parts of the bet to win for your selection to win.

You can also bet on whether the total number of points scored in the first half is an Odd or Even number. Odd numbers are 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.

Second half - 1x2 (Incl. Overtime) is a market where you are betting on the outcome of the second half which consists of the third and fourth quarters plus the potential Overtime if it is being played. The number of points scored in the first half plays no role in the outcome of this bet.

For this market line you are betting on which team will win the 2nd half, if they score the same number of points in this half the selection will be settled with x1 odds. Same as above, the number of points scored in the first half plays no role in the outcome of this market.

You can also place a bet on the handicap market just for the second half plus the Overtime if it comes to it. Bills -5.5 points means that you need them to score at least 6 or more points than the Jaguars in the second half.

In this market, you are betting on how many points will be scored in the second half with Overtime included yet again. The number of points scored in the first half is not counted for the outcome of bets placed on this market.

On this market, you can place a bet on which half will have the most points scored. You can choose between the first half, the second half or you can even pick the Equal option if you think that the same number of points will be scored in each half. Overtime is not included in this market.

Quarters markets

In this market, you can place a bet on the handicap and total line combined for the first quarter. Both lines must hit for your selection to win. Bills (-0.5) % over 9.5 selection requires Bills to win the first quarter by at least 1 point and that the total number of points scored in it will be at least 10.

For this market, you are placing a bet on the outcome of the 1st quarter as well as on the total number of points scored in it. Again both outcomes must happen for the selection to win otherwise it will be settled as a loss.

Draw No Bet market for each quarter is a market where you can place a bet on the winner of the specific quarter where if the quarter ends as a tie your selection is voided.

Under this market tab, you will be able to place a bet on the handicap lines for each quarter. Keep in mind that the 4th quarter market here is offered for the regular part of the match only, it doesn't include Overtime.

You can also place bets on the total number of points for each quarter. As above the fourth quarter doesn't include Overtime.

A three-way market for the outcome of each quarter can be found there too. You are simply betting on the outcome of each quarter separately here.

As there can be an Overtime in case of a tied score after the end of the fourth quarter there are these markets available that include Overtime.

With a 4th quarter 1x2 (incl. overtime) market you can bet on the outcome of the 4th quarter and potential overtime, you can select either team to win it or for the outcome to be a Draw.

4th quarter - Handicap (incl. overtime) is a market where you are betting on which team will win the specified quarter with the potential overtime played when the handicap line you selected is applied.

4th quarter - Total (incl. overtime) is a market where you are betting on how many points will be scored by both teams combined in that quarter and the potential overtime.

4th quarter - Draw No Bet (incl. overtime) is a market where you are betting on the winner of the specified quarter. In the event that both teams score the same number of points, the selection is voided (settled with x1 odds).

In the highest scoring quarter market you are betting on a quarter that will have the most points scored or you can select equal if you think that one or more quarters will have the same number of points scored.

Specials markets

Here you can bet on the winner and total market combined with overtime included. You need both selections to win for the selection to be settled as a win.

On this market, you are placing a bet on the outcome of the match with both handicap and total line applied with overtime included. Again, you need both outcomes to be won for selection to be settled as a win.

The winning margin is a market that doesn't include Overtime. You are betting on a win for each side with applied point margins or for a match to end as a Draw.

This market is a straightforward one, you are betting on whether there will be an Overtime in the match or not.

Here you are betting on whether the total number of points scored in the match with overtime included will be an Odd or an Even number (odd numbers: 11/13/15/17 etc.)

The total touchdowns market includes overtime and here you can place a bet on the total number of touchdowns scored in the match.

Total field goals made (incl. overtime) is a market where you can place a bet on Over or Under a certain field goal line offered by the odds provider. Keep in mind that it is only for the field goals made not all field goals that are taken.

You can also place a bet on which team will score the first field goal in the match, it doesn't matter who takes the first one, it is just for who will score the first one.
